NCIS series was first introduced during a 2 part-episode on the long-running television series "JAG" Season 8 in April 2003. In September 2003, NCIS Season 1 started. We were introduced to Senior Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs and his team which consists of:
- Special Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo who has been on board since day one but left in season 13.
- Special Agent Caitlin "Kate" Todd whom we saw tragically killed at the end of Season 2
- Forensic Scientist/Specialist, Abby Sciuto;
- Special Agent and novelist, Timothy McGee who was not a full-time member of the cast until Season 2.
- Chief Medical Examiner, Donald "Ducky" Mallard, whose quirks include talking to his deceased patients.
- Mossad Liaison Officer, Ziva David, joined the team in Season 3 after Kate's death.
- Assistant Medical Examiner, Gerald Jackson was by Ducky's side briefly during season 1 but after being injured in the line of duty, he was replaced by:
- Assistant Medical Examiner, Jimmy Palmer (aka Black Lung). Palmer has proven to be an interesting yet compatible partner to our beloved Ducky.
- After the death of Director Jenny Shephard, Director Leon Vance joined the team in Season 6.
- Former NSA Analyst Eleanor Bishop, joined in Season 11 with the leaving of Ziva David.
- Three newcomers arrived in season 14.
We have seen many other characters come and go for various reasons and we will see many more as each season goes by. But no matter what, we will always have Jethro and his Gibblets to keep us tuned in every Tuesday night! |
- NCIS: The Beginning is a 2 part episode that was featured in the CBS Series "JAG."
- Season 1 starts with our series premiere, "Yankee White," and concludes with "Reveille."
- Season 2 begins with "See No Evil" and ends with "Twilight," the most shocking NCIS episode ever.
- In Season 3, the team is reeling from the events of "Twilight." The finale, "Hiatus, Part II" takes the show in a whole new direction.
- Season 4 starts with a new team structure in "Shalom," and La Grenouille is revealed in the season finale, "Angel of Death."
- Season 5 starts with "Bury your Dead" and ends with "Judgement Day". And boy, was it EVER a judgement day!
- Season 6 began with good news for fans and ended up leaving us with questions as to the fate of Ziva; not to mention questions of trust and loyalty!
- Season 7 began with the team on the hunt for a missing Ziva. Once they found her, Ziva began her quest to become a US Citizen and NCIS Agent. Meanwhile, we saw the return of Gibbs' father for Christmas and we met his ex. mother-in-law, which began the reveal of Gibbs' past and lead us to the season 7 finale.

- Season 11 – This season saw the departure of Ziva David, and after a series of various TADs, former NSA analyst Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop joined the team.
- Season 12 – Gibbs' Dad passed as did the actor who played him, namely Ralph Waite
- Season 13– We saw the departure of Tony DiNozzo
- Season 14– The arrival of three new agents joining the team: Quinn, Reeves and Torres.
- Season 15 – Abby left and Reeves was murdered; and a girl called Kasie took over Abby's place in the lab.
- Season 16 – Adaptation of Kasie to the team and vice versa. Palmer has more responsibility now.
