NCIS season 19: See Mark Harmon, Gary Cole in new promo.
Today NCIS released their latest season 19 promo, and if you love Mark Harmon, this one’s worth checking out! Of course, the same goes for if you’re intrigued about Gary Cole’s FBI agent character, as well.
If you look to the bottom of this article (via Wilmer Valderrama’s Instagram page) you can see what we’re talking about here. It’s a combo promo with NCIS: Hawaii, and a somewhat extended version of one that was released earlier this summer. Nonetheless there are some new pieces of season 19 footage in here, including Harmon’s Gibbs looking worse for wear, presumably in the aftermath of that boat explosion at the end of season 18.
Have you watched our full review yet of the NCIS season 18 finale? Then be sure to check that out at the bottom of this article! Once you do watch it, remember to also SUBSCRIBE to Matt & Jess on YouTube — there are more updates ahead and of course, we don’t want you to miss those.
When it comes to Cole’s mysterious role, we know that his character’s name is Alden Park and that he should not be thought of as a replacement for Gibbs. There are reports out there aplenty that Harmon will have a more limited presence in the upcoming season but to date, nobody affiliated with the show has confirmed that. It remains to be seen if Gibbs will fight to get his job back after he’s done tracking the serial killer who, presumably, is responsible for his near-death experience. We’re also waiting to see if Pam Dawber returns as Marcie Warren, given how integral she was to some of his investigations at the end of last season. Related Post
NCIS season 19 premieres on Monday, September 20 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time; it will be followed immediately after the fact by NCIS: Hawaii. There’s a lot to look forward to in one night!

Since Gary Cole is coming on board NCIS as an FBI agent, does that mean we’re not going to see Joe Spano as Fornell any longer? –KR
Au contraire. “We will be seeing Fornell for as long as Joe Spano would like to be on this show,” showrunner Steven D. Binder said during our in-depth Fall Preview Q&A. “He’s just fantastic.” Already, Spano is booked for one Season 19 episode “and possibly more,” the EP said.

NCIS’ Kicks off Season 19 With the Search for Gibbs.
While fans may know that Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) survived his boat exploding in the Season 18 finale, it sounds like the NCIS team is going to be a bit in the dark about just what’s going on when the fall season begins. Fortunately, Pam Dawber is returning as investigative journalist Marcie Warren, and she can clue them in on some of what they don’t know.
“As the NCIS team searches for Gibbs after wreckage from his boat is discovered, they find out he was tracking a serial killer with journalist Marcie Warren (Pam Dawber), who wrote an exposé on him,” the logline for the NCIS Season 19 premiere, “Blood in the Water,” reads. And that episode title has us a bit worried!
After all, while we did see him swimming away after his boat exploded in the final moments of Season 18, prior to that, we did wonder if the episode would end with him still floating in the water. And even though he’s alive, who knows if he’s injured?
When NCIS returns, the team won’t just be down Gibbs (who was still suspended at the end of Season 18). Emily Wickersham has left, with Ellie Bishop off on an undercover assignment. But Special Agents Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) and Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) will have help from Jessica Knight (Katrina Law, now a series regular), with whom they worked after she lost her entire REACT team.
Scroll down for a look at “Blood in the Water” as the team searches for Gibbs.

NCIS Season 19: Gibbs Is Front and Center in Poster Touting Monday Move.
Leroy Jethro Gibbs is right where he oughta be, front and center (and in the diner!), in the key art poster for NCIS Season 19. NCIS’ Biggest Exits of All Time, Ranked! Launch List
The poster features series frontman Mark Harmon, along with Wilmer Valderrama, Sean Murray, new series regular Katrina Law, Rocky Carroll, new series regular Gary Cole, Diona Reasonover, Brian Dietzen and David McCallum. It also touts the CBS procedural’s first time slot change ever, from Tuesday to Monday (where it will air at 9/8c, leading into the freshman offshoot NCIS: Hawai’i).
TVLine asked CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl about any “message” the poster might be sending, by prominently featuring Harmon in the wake of reports that the series vet might have a reduced presence this season. “We’re highlighting our cast in an interesting and fun and provocative way,” he answered. “That’s all it’s trying to say.”
Check out the full poster below, then read on for more.
In the Season 19 premiere, airing Monday, Sept. 20 and titled “Blood in the Water,” as the NCIS team searches for Gibbs after wreckage from his boat is discovered, they find out he was tracking a serial killer with Marcie Warren (played by Pam Dawber), the journalist who wrote an exposé on him.
Having seen Gibbs swim away from the fiery explosion of his newly finished boat at the close of the Season 18 finale, “We know he’s not dead right there, and we know he’s able to swim well enough,” showrunner Steven D. Binder noted to TVLine. “All things are still possible with Gibbs.”
Binder also said that, with the arc about Gibbs’ suspension winding down in some fashion, and having handled the exits of two characters (Jack and Ellie), TV’s most watched drama will soon return to its familiar formula.
“One of the things we said to ourselves was let’s get back to some interesting cases without any overarching arcs,” Binder shared. “I think it’s time for us to sort of regroup and get back to telling good mysteries of the week with interesting characters, interesting stories and emotional hooks, and a satisfying ending.”

NCIS season 19 episode 4 spoilers: Gibbs, McGee head to Alaska!
30th September, 2021
NCIS September 30, 2021
NCIS season 19 episode 4 is going to have something in common with Monday’s episode 3: Both feature Gibbs on a bit of a journey.
With that being said, episode 4 is going to send him very far from home — this is no ordinary road trip. “Great Wide Open” will put Mark Harmon and Sean Murray’s characters on the other side of the country, where the two of them hope to get answers once and for all on the serial killer that’s been important to this show ever since the end of last season. Based on some early suggestions from producers, it sounds like this is a four-episode arc and there could be questions aplenty about the future of Gibbs after the fact.
For a few more details about NCIS season 19 episode 4, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:
“Great Wide Open” – Gibbs and McGee head to Alaska while the team works at home to uncover the conspiracy behind the serial killer, on the CBS Original series NCIS, Monday, Oct. 11 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
It’s unlikely that Mark Harmon and the NCIS crew actually traveled to Alaska for this episode, but they tend to do a good job of replicating locations from the Los Angeles set. Heck, they emulate Washington DC with just about every episode!
We’re sure that this episode will raise some more questions about Gibbs’ future with the team, given that this has been a central theme for most of the first two episodes. No matter what he decides to do, let’s just hope that it leads to him sticking around longer…

11. Variety – Mark Harmon Steps Away From ‘NCIS’ Role After 18 Years. By Katie Cole.
After 18 years of leading “NCIS,” Mark Harmon has stepped away from his high-profile camera role on the popular CBS criminal drama.
Monday’s episode of “NCIS,” the fourth episode of Season 19, concluded with his character Leroy Jethro Gibbs, who was nearly killed in a boat explosion in the Season 18 finale, deciding not to return to his job in NCIS. “I’m not going back, Tim,” said Gibbs to Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray). Gibbs instead chose to remain in Alaska, where he and McGee tracked down a hitman hired by a local company.
Executive producer and showrunner Steven D. Binder left the future ambiguous as to whether or not fans would see Gibbs again, noting that Harmon is executive producer.
“As an executive producer and dear friend, Mark continues to be an integral part of the fabric of the show,” Binder said in a statement. “Our North Star has always been staying true to our characters, and that truth has always guided the stories we tell and where those characters go. So regarding the future of Gibbs, as long-time fans of the show may have noticed over the years … never count Leroy Jethro Gibbs out.”
Harmon was first introduced on the show “JAG” in 2003 and will remain a producer for “NCIS.”
Season 19 introduced new character Special Agent Alden Park, played by Gary Cole, and new series regular Special Agent Jessica Knight, portrayed by Katrina Law. They will star along long-serving cast Murray, Brian Dietzen, Rocky Carroll and David McCallum, as well as the more recently added regulars Wilmer Valderrama and Diona Reasonover, who joined Seasons 14 and 15.

12. NCIS SEASON 19 EPISODE 5 – Face the Strange.
Monday, October 18, 2021, season 19 episode 5 called, “Face the Strange”
Three juvenile delinquents were given a choice, either they go to adult prison or they live outside for a week with a hard lesson in tough love. The three kids chose the great outdoors but their first night was interrupted when they ran into a man dying out in the woods. Petty Officer First Class James Bolton was dying of exhaustion and dehydration. He was still alive when the teens found him only he died before they could get help.
The body had shown evidence of trauma and the identification of the victim as being Navy personnel meant that NCIS was called in to investigate. The team went out to see the scene and they were joined by former FBI Special Agent Parker. Parker had been offered a job at NCIS but turned it down because he said he wanted to take some time off and so he was just hanging around when Palmer came in with news about a “zombie”.
The team went to look at the body and it turns out the victim was called a zombie because that’s what everyone thought he was when they first stumbled across him. The body exploded when he helped loaded it into the back of Palmer’s car. The Medical Examiner’s van was totaled. Nothing and no one else was hurt. Palmer called in Ducky for his assistance and Ducky helped him put together Bolton’s body and they realized that the tragedy could have been much worse. The explosion hadn’t come from outside. It came from inside of Bolton’s body. Bolton swallowed a bomb and the only reason he would have done that if it was he trying to smuggle a bomb pass detection as he was a suicide bomber but died before he could detonate the bomb elsewhere.
Bolton was found to be military intelligence and worked at SATCOM. It’s the satellite networks that the military uses and the military as well as their weapons program would be lost without SATCOM. Parker was familiar with them so therefore was asked to lead the joint task force run out of NCIS into any remaining suicide bombers.
Kasie found out that Bolton was selling his services online as a hacker when he got a new partner a couple months back and he had then started to become political, so finding his partner was imperative. The team looked into the plot and found out he visited a Federal stenographer before he died but seemed unaware about his death as he had pretended to be his cable guy to get into his house. The stenographer says they would need a subpoena before he could release any information to them.
Kasie made another breakthrough by finding out that Bolton was paying for his bomb making materials by rigging the lottery and that he’s won the lottery four times and the latest time was an hour after his death. A woman by the name of Lillian Beck went in with the winning ticket to collect and Kasie suspected she could be Bolton’s mysterious partner. so she passed on her thoughts to Parker.
Parker arrested Beck and she was brought in for questioning. She told them she works for a lottery company that handles thirteen states’ lotteries but that she couldn’t keep winning herself so she and Bolton were convincing people to claim the lottery winnings for him. The stenographer lied to the team too as he did know Bolton and he paid Bolton twenty grand to hire a girl named Helen he met at a bus stop.
Helen gave the man her phone number but he lost it so paid Bolton to find her. The people who hired him to contact a man named Roy had used Bolton to trial run a bomb but he died before the bomb could go off and so they fixed the kinks and called in the stenographer.
They tricked the man named Roy into thinking he needed to update his pacemaker and then put the bomb inside of him and he was supposed to go off after he taken notes for a star witness in a mob boss’s case. The mob boss had already gotten rid of four other witnesses and the star witness was the last on the list.
Palmer and Ducky got the bomb out of the stenographer. The case against the mob boss went ahead and attempted murder was now added to the charges. Roy also ran into Helen at NCIS and the two chummed up.
Parker in the meantime considered the job offer to replace Gibbs and he’s seriously considering it.

In the wake of Mark Harmon’s departure from NCIS, Nick Torres wins a major role outside from the CBS drama.
Wilmer Valderrama, who plays Nick Torres on NCIS, has landed a major new job aside from his CBS character.
NCIS fans may be in for more disappointment after Mark Harmon’s departure from the CBS procedural drama. After winning a major role in an upcoming comedy, Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) could be saying goodbye to his character.
According to Deadline, Wilmer is in the process of developing a new comedy series with Erick Galindo and Aaron Izek.
The series, titled Mexican Beverly Hills, will follow a middle-class Mexican-American family as they relocate to Downey’s rich Latino community.
As they adjust to their new surroundings, the comedy will explore how the family will both blend in and stick out.
The next show will be a single-camera effort based on Galindo’s same-named New York Times essay.
Wilmer is now starring in CBS’ long-running series NCIS as Nick Torres, a role he has played since season 14.
There was conjecture over whether or not the actor would leave NCIS after the introduction of his new series.
After an 18-year run on the show, fans are still coming to grips with Gibbs’ (Mark Harmon) departure.
A probable Torres departure would undoubtedly break fans’ hearts, but happily, no such exit has been confirmed.
Before the debut of Season 19 of NCIS in September, fans assumed Torres would leave the show.
After a first-look footage showed him having to come to terms with his love interest’s departure and adjust to his new life, this hypothesis arose.
Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) announced her departure from the squad in the season 18 finale, which crushed Torres.
Despite the fact that the two never had a sexual relationship, their friendship had a will-they-won’t-they quality to it because it was clear that they both had affections for each other.
When they finally shared a parting kiss, though, it was too late to pursue anything romantically.
Torres and McGee got into a violent argument after Torres said, “Look, I know you and Bishop were…”
He abruptly interrupted before he could finish, “We were what?” outraged at McGee’s insinuation.
While McGee tried to persuade Torres to take a break from an investigation, Torres retorted, “I can do my damn job,” according to “Brinkwire Summary News.”
